Pilates is an orderly, balanced system of controlled, distinct movements that requires internal focus & concentration. It aims to lengthen & tone muscles promoting strength and flexibility while targeting the core. It is essentially a form of movement re-education, concentrating on ‘how’ to move correctly and efficiently, so is ideal for those rehabilitating after injury or illness. Many elite athletes, from rugby players to ballet dancers, use Pilates as an essential part of their training. Northland Pilates caters for men and women, regardless of age or ability and we specialise in rehabilitation and Pilates during pregnancy.
We are the only fully equiped studio offering the full classical Pilates system as envisaged by Joseph Pilates himself.
We offer personal Pilates sessions taught by experienced instructors certified in the classical Pilates system. We use the many types of apparatus we have available to tailor the session to your individual needs. A session can be either for an individual or up to three clients sharing.
